Some pieces are worth holding on to, like this Amber Sun Circle plate basket in cream, orange and green rings, a vintage plate basket hand woven in Panama. The orange ring around a brown circle sits at the heart, with brown figures spaced on the cream field inside a green rim. It makes a thoughtful gift for collectors of handmade art and anyone who loves the rainforest. A small loop woven into the rim lets it hang on a wall, or it can sit on a plate stand, a shelf or a tabletop.

From Jan at MolaMagic: Here's another small treasure for that narrow wall you have been wanting to decorate. Four brown jungle parrots fly around its orange center.

Plates like this one are woven by Wounaan and Emberá women in the Darién rainforest of Panama, a skill handed down from mothers and grandmothers to daughters. Fine strands of chunga palm, colored with natural dyes from rainforest plants and earth, are coiled tightly around a core of naguala fiber, stitch by stitch, from a small knot at the center out to the rim. Every plate is woven entirely by hand, so each one is truly one of a kind.

MolaMagic was founded by Janet Marie Brockman with a simple but powerful mission: to help indigenous artisans in Panama share their art with the world. All profits go right back into the artisan community, supporting education, medical care, land, tools, and daily needs. Buying a MolaMagic basket means you are part of that story too.
