This is a great example of the Chunga fiber masks that the Wounaan women weave. These weavers are the same artists that make the famous Panama baskets.
This mask represents a handsome Bug Buster. With a snout like this he must run down ants and termites. The ears tell us it isn't a bird.
It measures 7" beak to back of the head. 4" wide. The neck area is classic Wounaan basket.

These masks are wonderful wall decorations or accent pieces.
I have a number of masks so check them out in eBay stores Molamagic and Traderbrock.
Another one-of-a-kind treasure.
