The molas on this blouse measure about 12.5" x 15". The molas are both hand and machine stitched.
This is an unusual mola blouse for a special reason. One side of it clearly shows the tracing that the artists do before cutting and stitching the material. It is well suited for the serious mola collector or a textile museum.
The birds on the molas on this blouse are parrots. The artist has delicately surrounded them with geometric patterns. Very nice.
Folks, here's a mola blouse that is really special. I bought it along with a few others from the son of a missionary couple that served in the San Blas Islands 1950-1970. It's a golden oldie but the colors are still brilliant. There is a whole lot of stitching going on here. Look at the design closely.
Unless you are a petite don't think you can wear it. Kuna women are really short and small.
